Research Skills

When researching you should not be just copying and pasting. It is obvious to the teacher when this has been done.

Instead you should:
  1. Find suitable sources of information i.e. Library books, encyclopedias, web pages etc.
  2. Read the information carefully.
  3. Extract important/relevant information linked to the task and questions.
  4. Write notes in your own words.
  5. Synthesise and organise the information.
  6. Reflect i.e. Have I completed the task as best I can? If not, what else do I need to find out? Perhaps new questions need to be researched to find out more in-depth information etc.
  7. How will you present this information to your audience?
  8. You must acknowledge all sources that you have used i.e. list them at end of project.
Hope this helps.
