Crystal Rainforest (Exploring Simulations)
Children will learn that computer simulations can represent real or imaginary situations. They should understand that computer simulations allow users to try things that would be difficult or impossible to do in practice. Children will use the simulation to make and explore predictions and to identify patterns.
Crystal Rainforest program is designed around a series of carefully structured problems that introduce children to the simple programming language, Logo. The functions of Logo are explored in a logical and sequential manner, allowing children to gradually learn the relevant skills and ultimately be able to apply them independently.
Learning Goals:

To develop numeracy skills, particularly estimation, angles and shapes
To introduce children to the programming language Logo
