Final Camp Reminders

Dear Parents:

Here are some final arrangements and advice about the camp:

1. Children not attending camp are expected to attend school as normal. Lessons have been planned for them.
2. Only parents chosen by the teachers are permitted to attend the camp. No other parents can visit during the day. One of the aims of the camp is to develop the children’s independence. We hope that you appreciate this.
3. Parents attending camp need to park by the basketball courts between 7:15 and 7:30 am. The truck has permission to park in the Admin car park. We will arrange that you can park there with Security.
4. Parents attending camp, please send your meal options to Mrs Garcia-Prieto.
5. Children need to come to school wearing their tribal t-shirts, shorts or trousers of their choice. We recommend that they wear long trousers on walks to avoid bites from sand flies etc. Also, we recommend that children’s feet are covered at all times to avoid ant bites. They should wear a hat to protect against the sun.
6. Children could take a travel sickness pill before the trip in case they feel dizzy during the journey.
7. Children need to bring a packed lunch (in a plastic bag) for the journey to Entre Pinos.
8. They will need to have their small rucksack ready to carry their packed lunch (in a plastic bag), water bottle (labelled) and mosquito repellent for the walk.
9. Children should not bring more than they need the camp is for two nights only.
10. We recommend sleeping bags, rather than quilts.
11. No electronic equipment is allowed (including cell phones). Children can bring card games to play in tents etc.
12. All items of clothing etc, should be labelled as best as possible, so that lost items can be returned to their owners easily.
13. We recommend camping mats rather than inflatable mattresses.
14. Children should not bring cuddly toys. They often take up too much space and need carrying by hand. If it is really necessary, make sure they are small and are in rucksack/suitcase etc.
15. Children need to remember their specific coloured t-shirt/sweater etc. for one of the games - red/green or brown. Mrs Navas is organising who needs to bring which colour.
16. Please send any medicines that your children need to take to Mrs. Garcia-Prieto (with clear indications).
17. We aim to arrive back at school at around 1 pm on Friday afternoon in The Admin car park. Please communicate with Madres Enlaces for updates.
18. Children will need a pencil, sharpener and rubber for the camp.
